Privacy Policy
SumMates is local-first. Personal ledgers, private entries, local preferences and device identity mappings remain on your device. Shared content is placed in Apple iCloud CloudKit only when you create or join a family or trip ledger, and is available only to invited participants.
Data and permissions
- Personal ledgers are not uploaded to the developer. Details marked private are excluded from shared ledgers.
- Selected screenshots are recognized on-device with Apple Vision and are not uploaded to the developer. Deleting originals requires your confirmation.
- Voice transcription uses Apple Speech and may be processed by Apple services depending on device and language support.
- Notifications are used for shared-ledger changes. Face ID, Touch ID or passcode authentication returns only a success or failure result.
Purchases
Apple App Store processes payment and StoreKit verifies access. The developer does not receive your card number. Subscription expiry does not delete existing entries.
No tracking
The app has no third-party advertising or behavioral tracking SDK, does not sell data, and does not create marketing profiles. This website uses no forms, analytics scripts or cookies.
Your controls and retention
You can delete entries, export a JSON backup or clear local data under Settings → Data & Privacy. Clearing local data does not delete iCloud shared copies; an owner can stop sharing through Apple iCloud sharing controls. Local data remains until you delete the app, entries or all local data; iCloud retention is managed through your Apple account and Apple services.
Children and changes
The app is not directed to children for marketing and does not actively collect age information. Material policy changes will update the date on this page and, when appropriate, be noted in the app or App Store release notes.
